THE WORLD IS A CANVAS ON WHICH WE DRAW OUR LIFE WITH THE CREATIVE USE OF OUR IMAGINATION
As woodlot owners, we have discovered who we are, our natural qualities and abilities, our desires and then bring them to life. There really are no limits to what we can create. If you can believe it, you can achieve it and these Woodland Mills sawyers have nailed it with their projects this year!
Operating a sawmill is a dream for many people but for these sawyers below, it is reality and they are a proud part of the Woodland Mills Product Owners & Community.

"Not only do I use the mill for putting the flat cuts on my floor joists and roof parts, but use it to cut my headers, sill logs and plate logs and making the tenons on the ends of all my gable and roof timbers.
For a small business , spending the money on a piece of equipment that you may only use a few minutes a day but it is VITAL being able to dig it out of a snow drift and fire right up and go is worth every penny! This Woodland Mills HM122 is one of the best investments I have made."

"Every piece of wood in the barn was sawed on the mill. My family helped with the construction which made for great summertime get-togethers.
I milled black locust logs into 2x8 planks and then bolted three together to form untreated 9x8 posts. Based on my experience with locust fence posts they will remain solid for many decades. Those locust posts were made with 6, 8 and 10 feet long planks and the above ground portion of posts were made with spruce planks, spliced into the staggered black locust planks."

"I have always had trees that were blown down every winter that was more than I could possibly use for firewood. Now, those trees can become useable lumber of any size and quality I choose. As soon as the new mill arrived I set it up in a temporary location and was off to the races!
I cut posts exactly to the maximum size my mitre saw would handle. Next, I cut a sizeable amount of 2x lumber for the frame, then 1x for the board and batten siding. I have never really had any hiccups with my mill. I do periodically check adjustments, tightness of bolts and keep it clean. Another huge plus for me is being able to have unlimited lumber for my sideline gig which is sign making/CNC carving. Of course, I had cut & laminated a nice panel to carve a fun sign to honor my mill."
LUKE & KATIE'S ROCKY MOUNTAIN HORSE BARN
"We kept the box from the sawmill and now we found use for it for pellets and minerals for horses.
Our barn is coming along [while we] work on the ranch but we just finished our new arena all milled with our woodland mills HM130 and now we are back and working on the barn again
It’s mostly Douglas fir from southern Alberta where we live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. We love working with this wood!
Still a ton of work that needs to be done but one day hopefully it will be finished and full with horses!"
MACKENZIE AND HIS HM126 WERE BUSY BUILDING A CABIN IN NEWFOUNDLAND.
NEXT IS A HOUSE.
"I built my off-grid cottage on the west coast of Newfoundland. The west coast has such beautiful scenery, which was one factor in why I chose to build it there. The other was that the area is a great snowmobiling county which I do a fair bit of.
The cabin has one bedroom one bathroom and a loft upstairs. It's powered by solar and has propane hotter on demand.
Everything wasn't as easy as you may think. Getting materials to the site over a 16km drive throughout hills, valleys and narrow roads through the mountainside wasn't the easiest task."
"In the fall of 2018, with the majority of my student debts paid off I was ready to start my dream of building an off-grid log cabin in the wilderness of eastern Canada.
Knowing that I wanted to mill my own timbers, I started to research sawmill options. I purchased the HM126 model, which has been more than sufficient for milling timbers up to 16ft long. In addition to the mill, I have built a trailer and added the lap-siding attachment. The lap-siding attachment has been a great option for a contrast to the log cabin itself.
With the uncertainty in the world today, having the ability to mill timbers and create an off-grid lifestyle is liberating!"
"Our 3200 sqft two-story house was sided using a Woodland Mills 126. Our 126 has been a huge part of this house. We purchased the mill with the intention of saving on posts, beams, headers and deck jointing. Due to the cost of all of those here in our area. After the siding, Then we moved to joists for the deck. Then decking. Then handrail.
We looked into the cost of siding and after seeing the cost of that we came up with the board and batt and shiplap idea. A bit more looking convinced us to buy a high-end table saw so we could build our own cabinets. Used lumber off the mill for the kitchenette downstairs. Since we had a lot of beam ends laying around we used those to make headers for all the openings in the house.
We cannot tell you how much your mill means to us not just in savings but in how much we enjoy milling and the satisfaction of our time used on the mill to add to our home. We have had no issues with our mill mechanically beyond operator errors. Mine, not my wife’s."
